Sharma Yoga

with Sharron Macrow

Movement has always been a part of my life. As an adolescent I studied classic ballet, I was very involved with Calisthenics competing with my local state team and national team in Adelaide and Ballarat. At 18 years of age, I became one of the ambassadors for the first and second Australian Drill Team performing in America and Japan.

At age 23, I moved to Melbourne to attend Tony Bartuccio full time performance school and ended up dancing professionally nationally and internationally. In amongst all that I also worked for Life be in It as an aerobics Instructor and was also a dance/aerobic/hiphop instructor for Jazza-jetics.

Movement and dance was my life.

Then later down the track I discovered Yoga. Yoga became part of my life around 15+ years ago, when my two children were at primary school. It wasn’t a consistent practice. I came to my mat on and off for probably the first eight years or so, however since then my mat and I have spent a lot of time together.

Yoga speaks to everyone in entirely different ways because we are all individuals with varying beliefs, experience, and desired outcomes.

Originally, yoga was something I went to, to get fit and toned, however as the years went by it become evident to me it was and is so much more. Yoga is now a major part of my wellbeing - mentally, emotionally, and physically, feeding my heart and soul.

A passion of mine was to share yoga with others, so last year, 2021 I decided to pursue a Teacher Trainer course completing my certification In December. I Loved it!

The subtle science confirmed yoga isn’t just about the asanas/poses building strength, stability, and flexibility.

Yoga cultivates health and wellbeing, awareness, union, balance and harmony between our body and mind through breath, movement, experiential practice, self-enquiry, relaxation, and meditation.

My current vocation as a Myofascial Release and Craniosacral Therapist and now Yoga Instructor, are a perfect adjunct together. Both focus on bringing the awareness of who we are, where we are mentally, physically emotionally in our body and space and how we can help ourselves to be a happier, healthier version of ourselves.

I am so excited about this new journey, and I look forward to seeing you on our mats.

Namaste!
